Explore Windermere from the comfort of your own canoe!
Canoeing (also known as Canadian or open canoeing) requires a little more skill to get going on your own. After some instruction and a little practice it is a very enjoyable activity and appeals to those who like a tranquil experience on the water. Because there is room for more than one person in the Canoe, it is great for families with small child or children who can sit snugly on board with mum and dad.
Canoes are not as stable on the water as sit-on-top kayaks. So,for your own safety, if you would like to hire a canoe and take to the water on your own, you will require a BCU 2* qualification or the ability to demonstrate knowledge of rescue techniques. Alternatively we suggest you book onto a Guided Tour or Private Instructed Session.
